Legal Billing Specialist - Fully remote position, but must reside in the DFW area

SUMMARY

• Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs a variety of billing and accounts payable duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Follows the ethical requirements as set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the State
• Processes invoices in accordance with the client?s guidelines and the billing attorney?s instructions
• Utilizes and generates reports using accounting/billing software
• Operates office equipment, including personal computer
• Maintains telephone and personal contact with clients, attorneys and staff regarding billing matters and observes confidentiality of client and firm matters
• Makes necessary corrections and generates bills and statements
• May utilize computerized accounting/payables software to process payment of the law firm?s accounts payable
• Utilizes portal invoicing as required by clients
• Processes credits with proper authorizations
• Maintains regular attendance and punctuality
• Work may require more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position; may require irregular hours

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

• Associate?s degree in related field or equivalent experience
• At least two years? on-the-job law firm experience necessary to gain an understanding of accounting/billing policies and procedures and effectively carry out routine accounting/billing duties with minimal supervision
