Job summary

Maven Clinic is seeking a Billing Specialist Associate to join the Payment Operations team. You will investigate complex billing cases, resolve reimbursement discrepancies, and ensure accurate claims processing to support members.

Reporting to the Manager of Payments, you will collaborate with internal teams and maintain audit-ready documentation, while navigating a fast-paced hybrid work environment across New York and Bay Area locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in healthcare administration, finance, or business operations.
• 3–6 years in medical billing, health benefits, or payment escalation management.
• Understanding of medical billing, reimbursement processing, and revenue cycle management.
• Working knowledge of payments lifecycle and claim adjudication.
• Experience with Jira, Zendesk, and reporting tools like Google Sheets/Looker.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve escalated reimbursement processing discrepancies and cost-share issues.
• Serve as the expert on billing and cost-share determinations; execute backend system corrective actions.
• Coordinate with internal teams including Member Benefits, Adjudication, Payment Operations, Product, Client Success and Client Operations.
• Maintain complete, audit-ready documentation on every case.
