Job summary

Maven Clinic in the United States is seeking a Billing Specialist Associate to join the Payment Operations team. You will investigate and resolve complex payment and billing cases, and help ensure smooth reimbursement processing for members under the Manager of Payments.

This role requires cross-functional collaboration, strong attention to detail, and the ability to document cases audit-ready. A 3–6 year background in medical billing or payment escalation, plus Jira/Zendesk familiarity, is

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Healthcare Admin, Finance, or related field.
• 3–6 years of relevant experience in medical billing, health benefits, or payment escalation management.
• Understanding of medical billing, reimbursement processing, insurance claims processing, and revenue cycle management.
• Working knowledge of payments lifecycle, benefits design, and claim adjudication.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve escalated cases (reimbursement processing discrepancies, accumulator/cost-share issues, eligibility questions, claims lifecycle and adjudication).
• Serve as the expert on billing and cost-share determinations, executing backend system corrective actions.
• Coordinate with internal teams (Member Benefits Services, Adjudication, Payment Operations, Product, Client Success and Client Operations).
• Maintain audit-ready documentation on every case.
