Clarity Care Inc in Oshkosh, WI is seeking a Billing Specialist to support the Accounting Department with timely, accurate healthcare billing and cross-training opportunities. You will handle multiple payors, maintain paperless records, and prepare reports to aid leadership decisions.

Requirements include an accounting-focused degree or equivalent experience, strong MS Office skills, and excellent organizational and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Technical or Associate’s degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
• Ability to work cooperatively with staff, vendors, consumers, etc.
• Must pass WI Caregiver Background Checks including DOJ or other state checks.

Responsibilities

• Billing for various service types to multiple payors in accordance with DHHS.
• Utilize multiple software programs to maintain paperless records.
• Prepare ad hoc reporting to assist Leadership in growth decisions.
• Participate in monthly/yearly close process, including journal entries.
• Ensure proper authorizations are compliant for billing.
• Work with teams to reduce write-offs.
• Respond to pay sources during audits of billed services.
• Complete HUD Compliance for tenants with HUD subsidies.
• Assist in annual audits and other projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

This position supports the day-to day operations of the Accounting Department. This position may be required to participate in cross training in the Accounting Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete timely and accurate billing for various service types to multiple payors in accordance with the Department of Health and Human Services.
• Utilize multiple software programs to maintain paperless records as much as possible.
• Prepare adhoc reporting to assist Leadership in growth and decision making.
• Participate in the accounting monthly/yearly close process, which includes various tasks, including but not limited to: preparing journal entries and ensuring accurate accounting records.
• Ensure proper authorizations are compliant for billing.
• Work with various teams to reduce write-offs.
• Respond to various pay sources on periodic audits of billed services
• Complete HUD Compliance for tenants with HUD subsidies.
• Assist in annual audits and other projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Technical or Associate’s degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Possess advanced computer and telecommunication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills.
• An energetic, outgoing, detail-oriented person who demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
• Ability to work cooperatively with and under the direction and supervision of a variety of persons including coordination staff, vendors, consumers, etc.
• Must pass periodic WI Caregiver Background Checks including Department of Justice Criminal Record Checks, and/or that of previous states of residence.
