A nationally recognized law firm with a strong reputation for excellence is seeking a Billing Specialist to join its accounting and finance team in New York City. This role will support senior stakeholders and manage the full billing process from pre-bill review through final invoicing, including resolving billing discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end billing process for approximately 10 partners
• Review and revise pre-bills; prepare and distribute final invoices
• Handle complex billing arrangements, including split billing, multi-payor, and flat-fee structures
• Ensure compliance with client billing guidelines and electronic submission requirements
• Collaborate with attorneys, secretaries, and finance team members to resolve billing issues
• Submit invoices via e-billing platforms and troubleshoot LEDES file issues
• Monitor WIP and aged inventory; escalate potential write-offs as needed
• Assist with accruals, reporting, and special projects

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of legal billing experience in a mid-to-large law firm
• Strong knowledge of LEDES files and electronic billing platforms
• Experience with Aderant, CMS, or similar billing software preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and managing billing data and reports
• Highly detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to manage competing priorities
• Strong communication and client service skills
