Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate degree is preferred.
• 1 year with an Associate degree, or 2 years with HS/GED, in billing or health claims.
• Experience with IDX billing systems in health care or insurance environments; familiarity with ICD/CPT coding.

Responsibilities

• Verifies insurance and registration data for scheduled encounters and reviews forms for accuracy.
• Enters office charges with accurate data entry of codes and ensures processing per policies.
• Posts all payments in IDX and handles missing charges, edits, denials, and appeals as needed.
• Performs specialty coding and edits for services and visits when required.
• Identifies billing issues and communicates updates to physicians and staff.
• Monitors daily AR via reports and re-submits claims; may assist in appeal letters.
• Keeps current with third-party payer requirements and regulatory guidelines.
