Base pay range

$75,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr

Brief Description

Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Billing Manager will ensure all medical/dental billing processes are conducted daily and will be responsible for the overall functioning of the billing department at all locations/sites.

Requirements

• Knowledge of EPACES, Electronic Medical Billing Systems
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and preferred knowledge of Microsoft Access
• Knowledge of completing CMS 1500 and UB92 insurance claim forms
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a wide range of managers, supervisors, and vendors

Summary

• Supervises all activities related to the Betances Health Center (BHC) billing and collection functions, including transaction processing, verification of patient demographic and insurance data, capturing charges, posting payments, monitoring receipts and collections, managing accounts receivables, generating reports, and reviewing billing data.
• Assists in developing and implementing billing policies and procedures.
• Interviews, trains, evaluates, and supervises billing and coding personnel.
• Ensures services are captured and billed appropriately, and manages billing compliance activities.
• Coordinates with outsourced billing vendors and acts as a liaison between providers, management, and billing operations.
• Develops mechanisms to ensure timely billing and payments, manages internal controls, and ensures accurate posting of insurance payments.
• Prepares denial reports, reworks denials, and maintains billing reports for management review.
• Handles third-party correspondence and reviews data mapping in the EMR system.
• Monitors billing and collection operations for compliance and manages delinquent accounts and adjustments.
• Regularly updates coding and fee schedules, and maintains communication with the front desk for billing issues.
• Recommends improvements to billing systems and processes and attends relevant meetings.
