Qualifikationen

• Minimum 2 years medical billing and supervisory experience.
• Thorough understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, PPOs, and private insurance.
• Understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding, EMR, PQRS, and Medicare Quality Initiatives.

Aufgaben

• Direct and coordinate the overall functions for the medical billing and coding department to maximize cash flow while supporting a positive patient experience and strong physician relations.
• Oversee claims submission, payment posting oversight, charge capture, staff supervision, training, and professional development.
• Create and implement policies and procedures designed to improve efficiency, maintain compliance, and support departmental and organizational goals.
• Oversee authorization processes and tracking for surgeries, PET CT, imaging services, and medications to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain the weekly billing update spreadsheet for administration and review the monthly collections report from MedHQ.
• Manage RAC Audits by CMS, including updating the RAC Audit spreadsheet, notifying physicians of recoupments, and reviewing clinical policies for billing and coding compliance.
• Keep staff and physicians informed of payer updates and changes.
• Collaborate with the Manager of Revenue Cycle & Billing Operations on budget planning, biller workflow oversight, and payer guideline reviews to ensure departmental alignment.
• Cross-train on in-office dispensing (IOD) charges and payments, to support operational coverage and assist the Manager of Revenue Cycle & Billing Operations as needed.
• Cross-train on reviewing AR to provide secondary oversight and support.
• Performs additional duties as assigned or requested.
