Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking a Billing Coordinator I - Reproductive Specialists - Wall Street & Bethpage to join the Faculty Group Practice Central Billing Offices. You will coordinate coding review, charge submission, and follow-up on denials for multiple specialties and providers.

The role supports physicians and practice staff, provides reporting, and trains on local and national coding guidelines to maximize revenue and ensure compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and relevant work experience
• High School Diploma + NYU Langone Health Coding Program
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Good communication, interpersonal and computer skills
• Detail oriented with high level of accuracy for reviewing charge batch submissions, preparing and presenting analyses

Responsibilities

• Monitor reports and assigned workqueues, ensuring coding, charge submission and accounts receivable follow-up is occurring on a timely basis.
• Perform charge reconciliation to validate all revenue is captured.
• Review unbilled charge reports and follow up with physicians and/or practice management for unbilled services.
• Identify coding or documentation issues and suggest improvements to physicians. Escalate issues as needed to practice and FGP Leadership.
• Work with front-end staff to ensure patient insurance information and benefits are verified accurately and timely. Act as a resource to front end practice staff to identify gaps in financial clearance processes.
