Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital–Long Island is seeking a Billing Coordinator I – Reproductive Specialists – Wall Street & Bethpage to join our Central Billing Offices. You will oversee coding review, claim submission, charge reconciliation and follow-up on denials, while providing financial and operational reporting to improve documentation and maximize revenue.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, strong communication and coding knowledge, and the ability to train staff on billing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and relevant work experience.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Good communication, interpersonal and computer skills.
• Detail oriented with high level of accuracy in reviewing charge batch submissions.
• Familiar with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Monitor reports and workqueues to ensure coding, charge submission and accounts receivable follow-up on a timely basis.
• Perform charge reconciliation to validate revenue is captured.
• Review unbilled charge reports and follow up with physicians or practice management.
• Identify coding or documentation issues and suggest improvements to physicians.
• Work with front-end staff to verify patient insurance information and benefits.
• Respond to practice, physician, and patient inquiries following CBO guidelines and payer rules.
