Job summary

BlueCat is seeking a Billing and Collections Manager in San Francisco to own billing accuracy, collections performance, and cash flow forecasting. You will lead the Billing and Collections team, set strategy, manage escalations on strategic accounts, and develop the team to drive efficiency.

The role requires 7+ years in billing/AR with 2+ years leading a team, strong Excel & reporting skills, and experience with ERP/CRM systems. Excellent written and spoken English is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field.
• 7+ years in billing, accounts receivable, collections, or related finance operations, including 2+ years leading or mentoring a team.
• Advanced understanding of billing, collections, account reconciliation, and revenue operations.
• Experience resolving complex billing disputes and managing escalations.
• Strong financial controls, reporting, and compliance knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with ERP, CRM, and financial systems.
• Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

• Reduce aging receivables and improve cash flow.
• Track AR aging, collections KPIs, and forecast cash flow; report to leadership.
• Lead automation, standardization, and process improvements; ensure audit readiness.

We’re hiring a Billing and Collections Manager to own billing accuracy, collections performance, and cash flow forecasting, and to lead the Billing and Collections team. You’ll set the collection strategy, manage escalations on strategic accounts, and develop the team.

What you’ll do

Team leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop Billing and Collections Specialists, including onboarding, goal setting, and performance reviews.

• Set priorities, allocate workload, and hold the team to clear accuracy and cash collection targets.

• Build team documentation and standard processes.

Billing operations

• Own billing accuracy and compliance with internal policies.

• Resolve discrepancies, credits, adjustments, and invoicing issues, and act as the escalation point for complex cases.

• Drive continuous improvement in billing accuracy and efficiency.

Collections and AR management

• Own the collections strategy for strategic and high-value accounts.

• Reduce aging receivables and improve cash flow.

• Manage escalations and make the call on payment risk and account health.

Reporting and forecasting

• Own AR aging, collections, and cash flow forecast reporting.

• Track billing and collections KPIs, identify trends and risks, and give leadership clear recommendations.

Process, controls, and cross-functional work

• Lead automation, standardization, and process improvement initiatives.

• Own internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance for billing and collections.

• Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Legal, and Finance to resolve accounts.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. Professional certifications in accounting, finance, revenue operations, or credit and collections are a plus.

• 7+ years in billing, accounts receivable, collections, or related finance operations, including 2+ years leading or mentoring a team.

• Advanced understanding of billing, collections, account reconciliation, and revenue operations.
