Job summary

Phoenix Home Care is seeking a dedicated billing and collections specialist to deliver accurate claims processing in a fast-paced home health environment. You will ensure timely submissions, follow HIPAA requirements, and communicate effectively with teammates and administration.

This role emphasizes understanding Medicaid regulations, payer rules, and account follow-up using AR reports and EOBs, with a focus on accuracy, organization, and professional conduct.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Submit claims promptly according to payer regulations.
• Perform pre-billing error checks and update as needed.
• Follow up on accounts receivable using aging reports and EOBs.
• Identify and resolve payment errors with payer-contracted rates.
• Process Medicaid Remittance Advice.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and professional conduct.

This candidate is responsible for delivering quality services in a timely manner. The specialist must possess a great working attitude while exercising accountability and professionalism in a fast-paced environment. This role reports to Revenue Cycle Management.

Billing and Collections Responsibilities

• Understanding of Medicaid regulations
• Submit claims in a timely manner according to payer regulations
• Recognize and update pre-billing errors
• Ensure proper follow-up using AR (Aging Reports), EOBs (Explanation of Benefits), and/or other correspondence
• Recognize payment errors using payer-contracted rates
• Abide by HIPAA regulations
• Communicate well with peers and administration
• Perform other duties as assigned
