Job summary

Elation seeks a Billing SME to join its Billing Team and accelerate AI-powered billing capabilities in primary care. You will ensure AI features deliver accurate, trustworthy billing outcomes used by practices.

As a billing expert, you’ll test new capabilities, provide real-world feedback, and define what constitutes correct coding. You’ll work closely with Product and Design to shape workflows that balance accuracy, compliance, and user experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on primary care billing and coding experience in a physician practice.
• Deep familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and modifier rules for primary care.
• Experience with practice management and billing systems (AdvancedMD, Athena, Kareo).
• Working knowledge of payer rules, denial management, and claims workflows.
• Ability to translate billing domain knowledge into clear, actionable product feedback.
• Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Design, Engineering, and Customer Success teams.

Responsibilities

• Test AI billing capabilities and provide credible feedback on coding decisions.
• Provide frontline context and grounding by benchmarking against other systems.
• Define correctness criteria for billing outputs and test them.
• Partner with design to integrate billing context into product.
• Support customers and internal teams by translating pain points into input.
