Job summary

The YWCA of Western Massachusetts is seeking a Young Parent Support Specialist to provide home visiting and case management for pregnant and parenting families in Springfield, MA. The role focuses on parenting skills, child development, educational goals, health, and social support for youth up to age 23.

You will manage 15–20 cases, conduct assessments, complete required funder documentation, and collaborate with schools and community partners to generate referrals.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or two years preferably in early childhood development or related fields such as social work, human services or community health, or equivalent professional experience.
• Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) skill required.
• Experience with survivors of gender-based violence and exploitation.
• Understanding of both interpersonal and structural racism and bias.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs. and be covered by the agency's insurance policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide outreach, case management and home visiting to young parents (mothers and fathers) to assist them in parenting, relationship skills, and life management.
• Maintain a caseload of 15-20 participants.
• Conduct initial and periodic assessments of each family to determine the appropriate level of services.
• Complete and collect documentation and data required by funder, including but not limited to developmental screening, literacy screening, and mental health/substance abuse screening.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation for each family served, including paper and electronic records.
