Job summary

Voces de la Frontera in Milwaukee is seeking a Volunteer Engagement Coordinator to develop and manage our volunteer programs. You will recruit, onboard, train, place, and support volunteers across campaigns and services, partnering with staff to create meaningful roles and sustainable engagement.

The ideal candidate speaks English and Spanish, coordinates with multiple departments, tracks outcomes, and ensures inclusive practice.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
• Strong relationship-building, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and project-management abilities for multiple priorities.
• Ability to design, document, implement, and improve systems and workflows.
• Equivalent combinations of education and lived experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer engagement program aligned with our mission and priorities.
• Recruit volunteers through community outreach, events, partnerships, and digital channels; conduct intake conversations.
• Coordinate orientations, onboarding, and training; assist with background checks where needed.
• Create pathways for volunteers to take on increased responsibility and leadership roles.
• Collaborate across departments to identify volunteer needs and support large-scale mobilizations and events.
• Track inquiries, placements, participation, retention, and program outcomes; prepare regular reports.
