Job summary

Family Crisis Center in Sioux Center, IA seeks a Bilingual Advocate to provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered victim services, with emphasis on Spanish-speaking clients. The role includes direct client support, advocacy, and data documentation.

You will perform interpretation, assist with protection orders and legal referrals, attend court appearances, and participate in community outreach and training.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish and English required; read, write, speak, and interpret in both languages.
• Bachelor’s degree in human services or equivalent experience.
• Experience in crisis intervention, victim advocacy, or case management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct Client Services & Advocacy: provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered support and case management for survivors of all violent crimes; respond to crisis calls with safety planning and emotional support.
• Provide interpretation and translation during client interactions, documentation, and community outreach.
• Assist survivors with protection orders, Crime Victim Compensation applications, and legal advocacy; accompany to court hearings and medical appointments.
• Maintain confidential case records and timely data entry into the agency database.
• Conduct community outreach, public awareness, and trainings; participate in fundraising and events.
