Job summary

Family Crisis Center is seeking a Bilingual Advocate to provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered services for Spanish-speaking survivors of domestic violence and violent crime. The role includes direct client support, advocacy, and community outreach, with 60% direct service and on-call crisis response.

Responsibilities include language interpretation, documentation, referrals, and collaboration with law enforcement and healthcare partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English required; read, write, speak, and translate in both languages.
• Experience in crisis intervention, victim advocacy, or case management preferred.
• Must complete mandatory victim advocate training within 30 days of employment.
• Willingness to travel frequently for client support, outreach, and training.
• Must pass background checks including criminal and child/dependent adult abuse checks, Sex Offender Registry clearance, and valid driver’s license with insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered advocacy and case management for survivors of violent crimes.
• Assist survivors with protection orders and Crime Victim Compensation applications; accompany to court and medical/legal appointments.
• Provide Spanish–English interpretation and translation during client interactions and outreach.
• Maintain confidential and complete case records; ensure timely data entry into the agency database.
• Conduct community outreach, trainings, and public awareness to strengthen resources for victims.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide crisis response, including evenings and weekends if needed.
• Travel frequently for client support, outreach, and training.
