Job summary

The Oregon Youth Authority is seeking a bilingual Victim Advocate to join the Victim Engagement Program in Salem, OR. You will provide trauma-informed advocacy for victims of crimes by youth in custody and ensure meaningful access for Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities include explaining rights, navigating the juvenile justice process, connecting with community services, and supporting restorative services within a culturally responsive framework.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish required; fluency in reading, writing and speaking both languages.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed advocacy to crime victims and survivors; explain victims’ rights and the process.
• Deliver culturally responsive services with emphasis on monolingual Spanish speakers.
• Build and maintain a referral network of victim service providers.
• Coordinate with county agencies and treatment teams to support case transitions.
• Support restorative services and victim-offender programs.
