Job summary

Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) is seeking a bilingual Victim Advocate Coordinator to join the Victim Engagement Program. You will provide trauma-informed advocacy to victims of youth crimes, focusing on Spanish-speaking individuals and ensuring meaningful access to rights and services within the juvenile justice system.

The role involves coordinating with county prosecutors, parole officers, and community partners, building referral networks, and supporting restorative services.

Qualifications

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking both English and Spanish is required.
• Experience delivering direct advocacy or support to crime victims and survivors using trauma-informed approaches.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal teams and community partners.
• Knowledge of Latine community and access to resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed advocacy to crime victims and survivors, explaining victims’ rights and the juvenile justice process.
• Deliver culturally responsive services with emphasis on monolingual Spanish-speaking victims.
• Build and maintain a referral network of victim service providers and community organizations.
• Coordinate with county agencies and treatment teams to share victim input and safety concerns.
• Support restorative services and victim-offender dialog programs.
