Job summary

New York Health (NYH) in Washington Heights, NY, is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Urology practice. The role involves patient intake, specimen collection, vital signs, exam prep, sterilization, and assisting physicians.

Must be bilingual in English/Spanish and able to travel to Brooklyn and Staten Island locations as needed. Starting pay is $25 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401k, PTO, and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certificate and High School Diploma required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• EMR proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient intakes and record accurate information.
• Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and tests.
• Record patients' vital signs and prepare for examinations.
• Sterilize equipment and assist with procedures.
• Assist providers and staff with data entry.
• Support physicians during visits and office procedures.
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
• Adhere to safety and PPE guidelines.
