Job summary

New York Health (NYH) is seeking a Medical Assistant - Urology/Pain in Hewlett, NY. You will manage patient intakes, perform lab tasks, record vitals, and support physicians during visits in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording.
• Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests.
• Record patients' vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations.
• Sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
• Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process.
• Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures.
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Medical Assistant - Urology/Pain

Location: Hewlett, NY

Hours/Days: 5/ 8.5 Hour Shifts; Monday - Friday (8:30a-5:30p)

Organization: New York Health (NYH) - Urology/Pain

Responsibilities

• Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording.
• Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests.
• Record patients' vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations.
• Sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
• Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process.
• Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures.

Requirements

• A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (Preferred)
• Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
