Job summary

Advocates for Immigrant Survivors in Houston, TX seeks a bilingual Survivor Advocate to provide trauma-informed case management and advocacy for immigrant survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and other crimes. The role supports clients in identifying goals, developing case plans, accessing safety and financial resources, and navigating law enforcement and social services.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of case management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with immigrant/low-income communities preferred.
• Commitment to culturally responsive services.
• Background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Answer AIS main phone line and schedule appointments.
• Develop needs assessments and case plans with clients.
• Assist with safety planning and Danger Assessments.
• Assist clients with Crime Victims Compensation, Address Confidentiality, and IVSS notifications.
• Provide referrals to social service agencies and partners.
• Advocate with law enforcement on behalf of clients.
• Prepare Victim Impact Statements.
• Assist attorneys with immigration documentation.
• Translate documents from Spanish to English and interpret during appointments and calls.
• Log all communications and maintain client files.
• Organize and maintain client data for reporting.
