Job summary

Laurel School District is seeking a Substitute Instructional Paraprofessional for the 2025-2026 school year. The position supports instructional activities at the Laurel Administrative Office and with assigned classrooms, following the district's lesson plans and behaviour expectations.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, be able to interact professionally with students, staff, and families, and pass required CBC and child protection checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college level coursework preferred.
• Applicant must demonstrate knowledge/experience appropriate to the position.
• Interact effectively with diverse groups of students, staff, parents and community members.
• Follow oral and written instructions with limited supervision.
• Adapt to a multitude of situations in a school environment.
• Deliver lesson plans while maintaining classroom management.
• English proficiency (read, write, speak); bilingual candidates desired.
• Punctuality and dependability are essential.
• CBC and Child Protection Registry checks required; TB test may be required.
