Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Bilingual SPED Teacher for PreK-5 on the West Side of Chicago. You will plan lessons, monitor progress, and maintain records while supporting bilingual SPED learners with inclusive instructional strategies.

The role requires ISBE teaching certification (PEL or ELS) and collaboration with families, staff, and administrators to foster student achievement and positive behavior in a diverse urban setting.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching requirements and coursework to obtain ISBE teaching certificate.
• License: Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS).
• Knowledge of curriculum content and instructional methods for SPED and bilingual settings.
• Ability to modify instruction to meet diverse student needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan instruction and write lesson plans aligned with objectives and assessment methods.
• Evaluate pupils' progress and maintain accurate records of achievement.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about progress, attendance, and conduct.
• Participate in professional staff meetings and in-service training; support after-school activities as needed.
