Job summary

Bridges Public Charter School in Washington, DC, seeks a Spanish-speaking Special Education ABA Teacher Assistant for grades 1–5. You will support the Lead Teacher in a non-categorical self-contained classroom with high-need students and collaborate with SPED service providers, ELL teachers, and families.

The role emphasizes data-driven instruction, classroom management, and engagement in school activities with daily attendance and grading responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Have an AA, BA, or MA, or high school diploma and pass the Praxis ParaPro exam.
• Strong Spanish speaking language skills.
• RBT certification preferred. ABA and VB training provided so candidate will be able to sit for the RBT exam.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Lead Teacher in planning and managing an elementary non-categorical self-contained classroom with high-level SPED students.
• Support the development and implementation of classroom discrete trial instruction, social skills instruction, and behavior plan implementation.
• Assist in assessing student progress using VBMAPP Milestones, Transitions, and Barriers assessments.
• Help collect data to track progress in curriculum, IEP, and ABA/VB.
• Provide support during small group instruction and specials (Gardening, Music, Spanish, PE, Art).
• Maintain the classroom grade book and attendance records; input 3–4 grades per week.
