Job summary

Spring Branch Independent School District is seeking a Special Education Teacher Assistant - Bilingual to support speech language therapy activities and assist Spanish-speaking students and parents.

Under the supervision of the building principal, the paraprofessional performs instructional and clerical tasks, maintains confidentiality, and acts as interpreter as needed. The role requires bilingual fluency in Spanish and English and a relevant certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 48 college hours or high school diploma/equivalent plus pass a District Assessment.
• Educational Aide Certification.
• Bilingual – fluent and literate in Spanish and English (reading, writing, and speaking).

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Texas Education Agency and district policies and procedures.
• Assist in record keeping and clerical duties.
• Assist in preparation, use and maintenance of instructional materials and equipment.
• Assist with teacher planned activities, exercises and drills.
• Facilitate communication between SLP and bilingual students in the provision of speech language therapy.
