Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a Bilingual Special Education Classroom Assistant to support students with various disabilities under the supervision of a Special Education teacher. The role includes one-on-one tutoring, personal hygiene assistance, and helping students with daily living skills.

The position requires a valid ISBE paraprofessional license (or eligibility), strong English and another language skills, and the ability to work with diverse student needs across elementary settings in

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid ISBE paraprofessional license or eligible for license.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English and at least one other language.
• Good knowledge of students with various disabilities and basic math.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reinforcing learning and instruction for students with disabilities under supervision.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring and personal hygiene support as needed.
• Assist in daily living skills, mobility, feeding, and positioning.
• Maintain written records of student behavior and progress; accompany students on field trips.
• Participate in workshops and in-service training to update job-related skills.
