Job summary

KLA Industries in Houston, TX seeks a Spanish-speaking Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent hire. Schedule is 8:30am-5pm, M-F, with benefits available and a focus on accurate specimen collection.

The ideal candidate holds a valid phlebotomy certification, has venipuncture experience, can label and transport specimens, and is proficient with Microsoft Office. Minimum 3 years of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• minimum 5 to 7+ years of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection as required.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport. Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen.
