Wheeler Clinic seeks a Bilingual Senior Counselor to support youth aged 17-21 as they transition into adulthood in the Bridgeport/Norwalk area. You will coach, guide, and assist with housing, employment, education or vocational opportunities, and life skills development.

The role includes ongoing training, supervision, and teamwork with colleagues passionate about helping young adults. The position emphasizes bilingual English/Spanish capabilities, a stipend, and a rate of $21 per hour, with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field is required.
• Experience working with young adults and at-risk youth is required.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assess and develop treatment plans in accordance with the program model.
• Work with young adults to establish permanency, education, employment, housing, and independent living skills.
• Provide group, individual and/or family counseling with supervision and coordination with other providers.
• Maintain records for client care, ensure Medicaid/licensing compliance, and complete documentation on time.
• Demonstrate knowledge of psychopathology, crisis theory, and intervention modalities relevant to the population.
• Support program operations and, when needed, transport clients or coordinate linkages.
• Deliver services in office and community settings with a flexible schedule to meet client needs.
• Provide crisis intervention and safety planning with on-call coverage as required.
