Baltimore County recruits a Nurse Practitioner to provide professional nursing consultation for non-public schools under the Bureau of Clinical Services. The role focuses on school health programs, coordinating care, and promoting a safe, orderly environment.

The ideal candidate holds an RN/NP credential with state licensure and NP certification, and may be bilingual in Spanish/English. Duties include reviewing medication plans, coordinating with families and schools, and ensuring immunization

Qualifications

• RN/NP credential required and state licensure (Maryland)
• Graduation from NP program approved by Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses
• Bilingual in Spanish/English strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and provides professional nursing consultation to non-public schools for school health programs.
• Oversees delivery of health programs and promotes a safe, orderly school environment.
• Evaluates plans for the administration of first aid for injury and illness.
• Advises and assesses the coordination of health care interventions, including emergency responses.
• Reviews plans for the administration of medications and health care treatments and ensures compliance with state regulations.
• Identifies health barriers to student achievement and helps families and staff remediate issues.
• Assists in developing plans for students with chronic health conditions.
• Assists school staff in assessing the health needs of the community.
• Advises school staff on coordination of health matters between the health care provider, family, and school.
• Assesses compliance with state immunization requirements and pre-school enrollment screenings.
• Consults on health screening programs (hearing, vision, scoliosis).
• Provides other related duties as required.
