Qualifications

• NJ DOE Standard Certificate or Emergency license eligibility.
• Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university.
• Current New Jersey RN license issued by the NJ State Board of Nursing.
• Preferred 5+ years RN experience.
• Bilingual ability; read/write/speak English; Spanish/Portuguese/French Creole a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develops a comprehensive health record for each new student.
• Performs routine screenings (vision, hearing, weight/height, BP).
• Refer students/parents to appropriate professionals for follow-up and document actions.
• Interpret findings to parents/teacher/student to promote health responsibility.
• Assist in contacting resources for diagnosis and treatment when defects are detected.
• Provide emergency medical care for staff and arrange follow-up as needed.
• Counsel parents/teachers/students on medical/health information.
• Review medical records annually for immunization status.
• Contribute to health education programs in the school.
