Job summary

Western Nevada College invites applications for a part-time, temporary/seasonal Saturday Library Lead in Carson City. The role supports Learning Resources and Support, opening a welcoming environment for students and staff and handling routine circulation tasks on Saturdays from 11am to 3pm with additional hours as needed.

The position requires customer service or cash handling experience; independence in decision making; and preferred Spanish language skills.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or cash handling experience.
• Ability to work without supervision and engage in independent decision making that supports department priorities.
• Fluency in Spanish is a strength.

Responsibilities

• Greets patrons as they enter the library and takes actions to ensure a positive and welcoming environment.
• Ensures a safe and healthy environment in accordance with library policies and procedures.
• Checks students into and out of the library.
• Assists patrons with basic circulation functions
• Issues library cards
• Answers phones
• Performs regular sweeps of the library to ensure a clean and tidy work environment
• Takes requests for inter-library loans
• Assists patrons in printing and making copies
• Handles cash accurately
• Follows security protocols, including closing
