Job summary

St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Parish in Southwest Miami, Florida, is seeking a full-time Sacramental Coordinator and Religious Education Assistant to support baptisms, marriages, funerals, liturgical planning, sacramental records, sacristy management, and religious education programs.

The role coordinates celebrations and records, and works closely with clergy, parish staff, families, and the CRE to ensure faithful administration.

Qualifications

• Must be a practicing Catholic with understanding of Catholic liturgy and parish ministry.
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
• Ability to work compassionately with families during significant life events.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, and parish events.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written.
• Proficiency with office software, databases, and recordkeeping systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate baptisms: primary contact, process applications, maintain sacramental records.
• Coordinate funeral arrangements: schedule, gather info, liaise with families and funeral homes.
• Prepare and plan liturgies and coordinate liturgical ministers and materials.
• Manage sacristy: inventory and preparation of liturgical supplies.
• Maintain sacramental records and issue certificates.
• Support Religious Education and OCIA programs: administrative tasks, materials, communications.
