Job summary

Keck Medicine of USC is seeking a bilingual English/Spanish research assistant to support the MADRES study, focusing on maternal and child health outcomes related to environmental stressors.

You will conduct phone surveys in both languages, enter data, schedule visits, assist with study documents, and help with sample processing and record-keeping, while collaborating with researchers and staff to ensure quality data and compliance.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and Spanish with strong writing and speaking skills.
• Experience with data collection procedures and production of technical documents.
• Ability to work with diverse groups including faculty and staff.
• Flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Prior experience in a research environment and biology lab techniques preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete survey questionnaires by phone in English and Spanish.
• Enter data into computer databases.
• Schedule research visits and possibly conduct study procedures.
• Assist with creation of study documents and questionnaires.
• Sample processing of bio specimens such as urine, nails, and hair.
• Maintain computer-based databases, sample inventory and records of SOPs.
• Provide administrative support to study staff and the study manager.
• Other duties as assigned.
