Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital in Brookline, MA, seeks a Research Assistant in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences to support studies on how maternal and child environmental exposures affect development. You will recruit and consent families, conduct assessments across remote, home, and lab settings, and help manage data and biospecimens.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in psychology, fluency in English and Spanish, and flexibility to work evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology or another relevant field.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
• Flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
• Knowledge of Excel is required. Knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, REDCap, and SPSS or SAS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Recruits and consents participants for research studies through interviews and written communications.
• Executes study visits remotely, in the lab, and in the home, including data collection and handling biospecimens.
• Serves as liaison to participants, guiding and advising them throughout the study and coordinating follow-up visits.
• Monitors and reviews data collection and informed consent procedures, ensuring consistency of application.
• Assists Principal Investigator in planning and implementing research studies and performs other miscellaneous administrative duties.
• Participates in training of newly hired research study assistants as needed.
• Creates and prepares data collection statistical reports and analytical summaries for distribution to study research team.
• Coordinates activities between the study team and collaborating colleagues within and outside the hospital.
• Prepares documentation for IRB/CCI submissions and NIH as requested.
