Job summary

EnerSys Advanced Systems is seeking a Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations in a defense-focused environment. Fluency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred, and a technical degree plus extensive manufacturing experience are required.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, on-time delivery, and budget adherence, with accountability to the Senior Operations Manager. Collaborative cross-department work and continuous improvement initiatives are integral to success.

Qualifications

• Strong preference for bilingual English and Spanish proficiency.
• Advanced technical degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in technical mixed high/low volume manufacturing.
• Experience in managing special processes (e.g. soldering, testing).
• Experience in managing production schedules with many product types.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles preferred.
• Ability to work with and present to all levels of management.
• Ability to accurately document processes, procedures, and training documents.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production operations to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
• Plan, coordinate and control production activities to meet schedules.
• Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to meet standards.
• Supervise production supervisors and line-leads to ensure adherence to standard work.
• Monitor production budgets and costs to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with Planning, Purchasing, Sales, HR and other departments to align goals.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and analyze performance data for optimization.
• Report to Senior Operations Manager on production performance and staffing needs.
• Maintain high morale and teamwork across the shop floor.
• Manage overtime and PTO requests and schedules.
• Monitor equipment functionality and repair progress.
• Emphasize safety standards and procedures.
