Job summary

Centro de la Familia in Colorado is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support the Lead Teacher and Education Specialist in delivering an engaging early childhood program for infants and toddlers.

You will collaborate with families, help plan developmentally appropriate activities, and follow Head Start standards while assisting with meals, hygiene, and daily routines. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred; CPR/First Aid and Food Handler permits are required.

Qualifications

• Current Preschool CDA or a plan to earn one within six months or an associate/bachelor's degree in early childhood education/child development or related field within two years from date of hire.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler's permits.
• Willingness to work with children with special needs and those with limited English language skills.
• Preferred bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
• This role involves physical activities, including lifting up to 50 pounds and various preschool duties.

Responsibilities

• Administer developmentally appropriate early childhood education for infants and toddlers.
• Meet individual and holistic needs of children.
• Collaborate with parents to include families in planning and execution of education.
• Support meals and snacks for children and assist with daily routines.
• Assist Lead Teacher and Education Specialist when needed.
