Job summary

Centro de la Familia is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support early childhood education programs for infants and toddlers. You will work under the Lead Teacher and Education Specialist to deliver a developmentally appropriate curriculum and engage families in planning and activities.

Responsibilities include assisting in classroom management, planning daily activities, and promoting physical, language, and social development while maintaining health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Preschool CDA or plan to earn within six months, or an associate/bachelor's degree in early childhood education/child development within two years from hire.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler's permits.
• Willingness to work with children with special needs and those with limited or no English.
• Preferred bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Administer a developmentally, linguistically, and culturally appropriate early childhood education program.
• Meet the individual and holistic needs of infants and toddlers.
• Work closely with parents and families, ensuring inclusion in planning and execution.
• Collaborate with staff, parents, and volunteers, including providing meals and snacks.
• Assume Teacher duties in the temporary absence of the Lead Teacher.
