Job summary

Amigos School in Cambridge is seeking an Extended Term Substitute Pre-K Teacher for a two-way immersion program. The teacher will deliver instruction in Spanish (80%) and English (20%) in a self-contained classroom and collaborate with grade-level teams, ESL/SSL, and Special Education staff.

They will plan and implement a curriculum aligned with Massachusetts State Frameworks and Cambridge Learning Expectations, and actively involve families in classroom activities and school events through

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
• Native-level proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Familiarity with PreKindergarten students and their needs.
• Experience in multicultural environments with culturally responsive practices.
• Massachusetts Certification: Early Childhood PreK-2; Foreign Language (Spanish) PreK-6 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach Pre-K in a two-way immersion setting (Spanish 80%, English 20%).
• Collaborate with grade-level, cluster, and school teams including ESL/SSL and Special Education staff.
• Plan and implement a curriculum aligned with state frameworks and local expectations.
• Engage parents and guardians in classroom activities and school events.
