Job summary

Shore Educational Collaborative in Cambridge, MA, seeks a Therapeutic Special Education Teacher who is bilingual in English and Spanish to support high school students in a therapeutic program addressing academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs.

The teacher will deliver individualized instruction, develop IEPs, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to re-engage students with limited English proficiency and varied learning profiles.

Qualifications

• Current DESE licensure in Moderate Disabilities strongly preferred.
• Candidates with other DESE licensure (High School) who are willing to pursue the appropriate licensure will also be considered.
• Strong prior teaching experience.
• Experience with students with social-emotional, behavioral, and/or mental health challenges preferred.
• Experience with project-based, experiential, or therapeutic learning environments preferred; openness to these approaches is required.
• Strong classroom management, relationship-building, and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction for diverse students in a therapeutic setting.
• Identify students’ strengths, needs, and interests to create motivating learning experiences.
• Develop and implement IEPs, including instructional modifications and progress monitoring.
• Differentiate instruction for small-group and individualized learning environments.
• Utilize trauma-informed, restorative, and therapeutic classroom practices to create a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with families and school staff to ensure needs are met across settings.
