Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Spanish-speaking Phlebotomist to join our contract team serving the Chicago area. The role involves blood draws, specimen labeling, proper handling, and ensuring accuracy at every step, with a focus on courteous patient interaction.

You will travel within the Chicago metro, cover multiple sites, and report to the lab supervisor. A valid phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience are required; proficiency with Microsoft

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Follow physician orders; match requisition forms to specimens; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to required temperatures; ensure transport integrity.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual trainings; handle inquiries via phone.
