Job summary

Felton Institute in Oakland is seeking a Bilingual Peer Support Specialist to join the TCWRT within the AB 109 Mental Health and Wellness program. You will draw on lived experience to engage AB 109 Clients and build trust-based relationships with the goal of connecting them with mental health services.

The role collaborates with Clinical Case Managers, participates in outreach across CORE sites and housing programs, and supports clients through appointments, benefits access, and crisis response.

Qualifications

• Lived experience in justice, mental health, recovery, or co-occurring disorders.
• Fluency in Spanish or other threshold Asian languages preferred.
• California Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification or willingness to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Build trust-based relationships with AB 109 Clients using lived experience.
• Provide outreach, coaching, and accompaniment to appointments, court dates, and housing visits.
• Support medication adherence and access to psychiatric services in coordination with clinicians.
• Document service delivery in ACPD portals within 72 business hours.
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing training.
