Job summary
National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) is seeking a Lead Medical Coordinator in Illinois to oversee health services for children in care and supervise Medical Coordinators. The role includes training staff, maintaining health records, and coordinating medical appointments and transportation.
The position requires RN licensure with a BSN and bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency, plus experience in public health or child welfare.
Qualifications
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required.
- Minimum 1 year in public health or healthcare with care coordination or clinical experience.
- 1 year in child welfare or social services with children/adolescents.
- Valid driver’s license and safe vehicle with insurance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee health services for children in care.
- Supervise Medical Coordinators; train staff on medical topics.
- Develop and maintain health records policies and PHI confidentiality.
- Coordinate scheduling of health care appointments and transportation.
- Prepare TARs, ensure payments; obtain medical clearances.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate care.
- Communicate with case managers and clinicians about health needs.
