Job summary

Urban Health Plan (UHP) is seeking a bilingual Patient Service Representative (Spanish/English) to join Vida Guidance Center in The Bronx. The role greets and registers patients, verifies and updates demographics, and provides empathetic support while guiding patients through the visit process.

The candidate will manage scheduling, handle patient inquiries, and ensure accurate information is recorded. The position requires 40 hours weekly, with some evening shifts and Saturday coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• One year of experience in an office setting with clerical duties.
• Bilingual Spanish/English required.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to provide exceptional patient experience.
• Understanding of phone etiquette and standard office procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and identify their needs.
• Verify insurance information through managed care website.
• Answer incoming calls and take messages for providers.
• Register patients, assign PCP when applicable, verify/update demographic information.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments; maintain charts and provide administrative support.
