Job summary

Savista is seeking a full-time Financial Counselor to assist patients with eligibility assessments and program applications for Medicaid, Medicare and charity care. You will work with hospital staff and patients to secure funding and resolve coverage issues while maintaining HIPAA-compliant records.

The role requires a high school diploma, English and Spanish proficiency, and at least 1 year in a customer-facing role, preferably in healthcare or financial counseling.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel to nearby hospital locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Meet with patients in-person to assess financial assistance eligibility.
• Assist with Medicaid, Medicare, Disability and charity program applications.
• Coordinate between patients, hospital staff and government agencies.
• Manage a high caseload and ensure timely follow-up on applications.
• Explain funding options and program details empathetically to patients.
• Maintain confidential HIPAA-compliant records and report data accurately.
