Job summary

Patient Funding Alternatives (PFA) seeks a bilingual Patient Advocate Specialist to join our on-site team at CHRISTUS Children's Hospital in a full-time capacity. You will identify, educate, and enroll eligible patients into the Health Insurance Premium Payment (HIPP) program, helping families access employer-sponsored coverage alongside Medicaid.

You will work from a referral list, engage families with empathy, handle documentation, and coordinate with hospital staff to move applications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Fully bilingual in Spanish is required.
• 2+ years in patient- or customer-facing roles with measurable outcomes.
• Ability to work on-site with limited daily supervision.
• Experience with a CRM or case management system and with mobile devices.
• Ability to pass hospital credentialing and screenings.

Responsibilities

• Identify and approach eligible patients from hospital referrals and census.
• Explain HIPP clearly and compassionately to families.
• Build trust while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Gather authorizations and documentation to move an application forward.
• Own caseload from first contact to enrollment.
• Document patient interactions and manage referrals in the CRM.
