Job summary

Choptank Community Health seeks a Bilingual Office Based Patient Service Specialist (PSS) to join a cross-trained team at multiple health centers in Maryland. You will perform pre-registration, registration, appointment confirmation and scheduling, and answer inbound calls while greeting patients and handling cash receipts.

This is a full-time, non-exempt role with a pay range reflecting hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• Requires High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient with technology including Microsoft software.
• Basic math skills required.
• Cash handling and accurate deposits experience preferred.
• Medical or dental terminology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide quality customer service at the front desk.
• Handle pre-registration, registration, scheduling, and appointment confirmations.
• Collect copays and provide receipts; record payments in the practice management system.
• Verify insurance information and assist with sliding fee enrollment.
• Register patients and verify demographics and contact information.
• Schedule appointments and manage waitlists and reminders.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA procedures.
• Travel to multiple sites as needed.
