New Horizons Healthcare (NHH) is seeking a full-time Bilingual Patient Access Representative (PAR), who has excellent customer service skills to perform front office duties in our busy medical office. Experience in a family practice setting with computer skills and experience in electronic medical records is required. Candidate must be team-oriented, with excellent communication skills, and a strong orientation to customer service. The PAR will be expected to interact effectively with patients, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds.
Position is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

New Horizons Healthcare is a federally qualified health center (FQHC) in Roanoke, Virginia that provides comprehensive primary care, behavioral health, dental care, and pharmacy services for almost 10,000 patients annually. RESPONSBILITIES
- Registration and scheduling of new and existing patients for Medical Office visits and other supporting appointments (Labs, Nurse Visits, X-ray, etc.)
- Performs Check-in and Check-out for all appointment types.
- Collecting and posting copays and account payments
- Verifying and updating patient demographic information
- Verifying and updating patient insurance information
- Answering a high volume of calls on a multi-line phone system, addressing those calls as needed or routing as appropriate.
- Other duties as specified by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 + years’ experience in Medical Office (preferred, not required)
- 1+ years’ experience in customer service
- EMR/HER experience (preferred)
- Bilingual (required) English and Spanish
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel between other locations.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
