Job summary

Easterseals Joliet Region is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Parent Educator to work with families, provide guidance and resources, and promote healthy child development. You’ll conduct home or office sessions, deliver curriculum, and connect families with community supports to empower parents as their child’s first teacher.

Responsibilities include workshops, documenting case files, and collaborating with schools and agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Child Development, Human Services, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience working with children and families in educational or social service settings.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
• Flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends as needed.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Provide home visits and/or office-based sessions with families to support parenting skills and child development.
• Deliver evidence-based curriculum and activities tailored to each family’s needs.
• Facilitate parent workshops, support groups, and community events.
• Complete documentation and maintain case files in compliance with program requirements.
• Collaborate with schools, social service agencies, and community partners to support families.
