Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a Class Size Bilingual Teacher Assistant to support instruction in Priority Schools. Under a licensed teacher, you will assist with bilingual student supervision, classroom activities, and preparing educational materials.

You will greet visitors, operate AV equipment, help with grading homework, and assist in student transportation supervision. A high school diploma is required and a valid ISBE paraprofessional license or equivalent exam is needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED.
• Valid ISBE paraprofessional license (TASN) or pass Work Keys/ParaPro exam.
• Bilingual in English and at least one other language.
• Must understand CPS rules and regulations.
• Ability to work with children and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of pupils under teacher supervision.
• Provide supervision in lunchroom and playground.
• Support teachers with bulletin boards and displaying student work.
• Assist in collecting and grading homework and exams.
• Help supervise student loading and unloading on buses.
• Greet and direct visitors to appropriate areas.
